The CHS fire happened in March 1999, and caused extensive damage to the south wing of the old building. However, within only a couple of days, the school was back up and running, with classes relocated throughout the building, and later in temporary huts. Repair work is now complete, and the huts removed. Below are some pictures of the damage. Coincidently, the fire took place on the anniversary of the Clydebank Blitz.
