Iain Morrison Collection Photos
Iain Morrison was the Principal Teacher of Religious Education at CHS until his final session at the school during the year 2008/09. A keen photographer, he has taken this collection of photographs recording the good and sad times recently. He has now taken up post at another school as Depute Head Teacher.
CHS at sunrise
Across the rooftops, a view from the Tower Block. In the foreground is the roof of the south wing, with the girls gym with the flat roof and the assembly hall in the mid ground.
The interior of the assembly hall. Compare this to the new assembly hall… (below).
The CHS 125 banners. Created in 1998 to celebrate the 125th anniversary of CHS, these were at the rear of the old assembly hall.
Packed up and ready for the “flitting” down the road.
The brickwork detail would never be seen in a modern building. This was built to last many generations. Perhaps CHS was knocked down in it’s prime? Maybe it was just lacking a little TLC?
A classic view of a classic building.
After the school closed it’s doors to pupils for the last time, many items were put to the landfill site.
Storm clouds gather on a doomed building...
A view from the old “Holy city”. This view hasn’t been seen since the 1970’s.
Death rattle...the corridor to the Music and Physical Education department is breached.
